heartFELT, the newest project by talented brooch crafter Gemma of Candy Bandit came about on a whim, and Gemma just went with it because it felt right.

The heart part refers to the fact that the project is about love, charity, and of course hearts.  The FELT part refers to the fact that Gemma’s medium of expertise is, indeed, felt!

The project involves 25 artists, who each submitted a design according to how they interpreted the theme heartFELT.  Gemma then worked her magic and turned each design into an incredibly detailed handmade felt brooch using new and repurposed materials.

At just $45 each, you can have your own piece of this collaboration between Gemma with artists like Leeloo‘s own Jessica Hyde and TMOD with  indie favourites such as Kareena Zerefos and Cat Rabbit, and feel good knowing that all profits are going to good causes.

All proceeds from the sale of the brooches will be donated to a charity of the artists choosing.  Gemma has done such an amazing job co-ordinating such a sweet and important project, and we are so thrilled to be able to share Gemma’s fantastically hard work with you all.  Click here to have a look-see.
