A couple of days prior to my recent overseas trip, I was in touch with a very nice lady regarding the possibility of using some images featuring pieces by the amazing swimwear label We Are Handsome to feature on the Leeloo blog, so I could share with you, our lovely readers, these beautiful pieces.

One thing lead to another, time got away, but I’m finally able to bring these images to you, but not after a very strange coincidence.

Renee and I, while we were in Porte de Clignancourt enjoying one of those delicious Parisian ham and cheese baguettes, during a brief rain-avoiding stop on the way to the flea markets in Saint Ouen, overheard another couple of Australians (who didn’t know each other) connecting over the fact that they were both from Sydney.  Of course I couldn’t help but chime in.  I mean, I do already know people from Sydney, but you can’t help say “HEY WE’RE FROM SYDNEY TOO” when you’re all on the other side of the planet, and the only four people sitting outside the cafe all live within a few kilometres of one another.

Anyhoo, whilst we were wandering the markets an hour or two later, we happened to run into another one of these lovely ladies once again.  We got chatting, about Paris, about jobs, where we were from, and this nice lady mentioned that her son was part of a swimwear label.  Which one? said I.  WE ARE HANDSOME she said.  I nearly D I E D.  NO! I said, you’re JOKING!  Anyway, Madeleine, is Jeremy’s mum, and it turns out Jeremy is one half of the wickedly amazingly talented and stylish team behind We Are Handsome.

Here are some of the amazing images and the story about We Are Handsome I wanted to bring to you so long ago, with the addition of a personal little coincidence-slash-travel anecdote attached!

We Are Handsome are a new label, just 20 months old, and already have the most amazing network of global stockists including Colette in Paris (we went there by the way – amazing), Selfridges and Harvey Nichols in London, and Barneys, Opening Ceremony and Net-a-Porter in the US.  This year the duo have expanded into the Ukraine and Switzerland and proudly boast that over 26 countries are now part of their family. With over 100 stockists in the past 2 years, We Are Handsome has become a favourite of fashionistas worldwide.

The original idea for We Are Handsome was to create spellbinding works of art.  The first collection was a creative collaboration by Indhra Chagoury and Jeremy Jules Somers which took off immediately.  In an unexpected way and now the duo have become an international sensation.
