On the Shopfront : November 11

Chances are that you, lovely Leeloo reader, took Halloween or the Melbourne Cup as an opportunity to get your decorate/accessorise on (as though one really needs an excuse)! Though I didn’t grace the races, I would have loved to have worn Sydney designer Milk From A Thistle’s very theme-fitting and beautiful stallion print silk skirt (as worn by Sarah Blasko on Seeker Lover Keeper’s album cover).

As for accessories and so much more, Leeloo have whipped out the big guns with a load of gorgeous additions to their stable. You can find a few of my favourites below but be sure to pencil in some time to mosey around their website and discover the other gems within!

1. Chipmunk Frenchie Necklace by A Wilderness For You and Me

Working for an orchestra, I can testify that French horn players are some of the loveliest people you’ll have the pleasure of meeting, but this one is by far the cutest! The Chipmunk Frenchie Necklace features an original vintage children’s book illustration on a wooden pendant coated with resin for added protection, suspended from a 60cm silver link chain.

2. Faberge Design Cotton Narrow Tea Towel by Kate McCarthy Designs

Kitchen, meet Art. I’m all for functional art and this Faberge Design Cotton Narrow Tea Towel ticks all the boxes. Handmade by Kate McCarthy herself, this tea towel features one of her bold and colourful illustrations digitally printed onto 100% cotton – for machine wash only – which I can fully appreciate, being queen of laziness when it comes to painstaking hand-washing!

3. Knitted Bow Tie Brooch in Black by Mel P Designs

I adore bow ties and this one I welcome into my wardrobe with open… doors. For ladies and gentleman alike, the Knitted Bow Tie Brooch can be worn traditionally or pinned most anywhere on your person! Hand-crocheted with Australian wool and fastened with a gold-tone brooch back, your cute factor will be off the scale with this on!

4. Jungle Bungle Art Print by Biruette

Is it sad how much time I spend pondering my possible future child’s nursery and clothing and cultural enrichment? Do not answer that. Biruette’s art prints are all kinds of sweetness and the Jungle Bungle Art Print appeals to the part of me mentally outfitting my make-believe kidling’s bedroom, but also the part of me that knows wonderful art prints when I see them!

5. Brachiosaurus Brooch by Orange Sherbet

You heard it here first, it is possible to be both an adorable vegan and a bada$$ dinosaur. Laser cut from black acrylic and fixed to a metal brooch back, the Brachiosaurus Brooch by Orange Sherbet is a killer (not literally because it only ate plants – awwww) addition to your outfit. Universally recognised as trumping all other animals, it is actually impossible to show a dinosaur brooch up so I highly recommend rocking this one.
